The Flower science experiment

This experiment is based on a research created by the Israeli scientist Ya'acov Leshem that studied the effect of plants with nitric oxide. He was trying to extent the shelf life of fruits, vegetables and flowers by treating them with nitric oxide.

The nitric oxide keeps plants fresh by inhibiting an enzyme that breaks down the chemical cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) and that is the exact same process of how Viagra works to fight the erectile dysfunction.

For this science project, we bought the Viagra Online as you don't need a medical prescription and was tested against other 3 famous substances: Sprite soda, Vodka and natural fresh water. The experiment was monitored for 7 days exposing the 4 flowers, each one of them on a different recipient with a different substance and comparing the results at the seventh day.

On Day 1, they put all flowers on their correspondent recipients, exposing them to exact same temperatures, light and air conditions without changing the water during the whole experiment.

On Day 2, the 4 flowers presented the same conditions and the scientist wasn't able to identify any remarkable difference between the flowers.

On Day 3 of the science project, the situation changed completely, as the 3 groups of flowers, except by the group of the Viagra, started to blossom at different rates, while the Viagra group was as tight as it was at the beginning of the experiment.

On Day 4, individual roses in the group of the water and Vodka were showing signs of wilting, while in the rest of the groups flowers were blooming slowly.

On Day 5 and 6, the Sprite group was completely withered and the rest groups of flowers continued blooming.

Finally on Day 7 of this science project, the remaining groups, the natural water group and the Viagra group bloomed, however the Water group was fully bloomed but droopy and unable to stand erect, in contrast the Viagra group was partially bloomed and strong and upright.

In conclusion of this science project, it was decided that the Sprite was the big disappointment of the test as it seems to have a detrimental effect on flowers, the Vodka and water works for growing the flowers but the Viagra wins by far this experiment showing a preservative effect on the plant and making the flowers last more.
